The Bun Cos., a Nashville-based bun and roll manufacturer, has purchased a wholesale bakery in Georgia that makes artisan-style bread and pastries, boosting its projected revenue to more than $100 million.

The purchase of Masada Bakery will allow the Bun Cos., led by CEO Cordia Harrington, to complement its offerings and meet the growing demand for more artisan products. It will also double the number of employees to more than 500 people.

“We have really seen the customer start to love this type of product,” Harrington said, explaining her interest in hand-crafted bread. “When you go out to eat today you’ll find at most restaurants, they are going toward more of an artisan-type product.”
