Sweet Success For Mooresville, NC's Queen City Pastry

Upgrading from what she calls her “easy bake” oven and a Kitchen-Aid mixer to a 30,000-square-foot bakery where scrumptious cakes and pastries are made, Angie Husein has dramatically broadened her passion for baking over the past 18 years.

So much so, in fact, that Queen City Pastry — her wholesale bakery in Mooresville’s Talbert Road Business Park — is a major supplier of cakes, cheesecakes, tortes, tarts, and brownies to at least nine of the area’s top restaurants, Harris Teeter and wholesale food distributors in nine states.

The facility at 137 Speedway Lane is divided in its roles. Ingredient preparation and baking is done on one side and finishing touches are put on desserts on the other. The manufacturing warehouse has six 80-140 quart mixers, five industrial sized ovens, four walk-in freezers, and soaring shelves of boxes, bags, and vats filled with baking ingredients.
