Ephrata, PA – Cake decorating enthusiasts and professionals alike can now enroll for individual classes to refine their skills or pursue a degree in cake decorating and the sugar arts with the Sugar Arts Institute (SAI). Fall classes are now available at the new facility in Ephrata, PA.
The Sugar Arts Institute instructors have been hand selected for excellence in their skill sets, teaching ability and years of dedication to sugar arts. They include renowned cake artists and and up-and-coming artists with fresh and amazing skill sets. Their goal is to bring to students the latest and most popular of techniques in all aspects of sugar arts.
Students can take chocolate, sugar and cake decorating classes from Food Network stars Jörg Amsler, Dawn Parrott, Jennifer Dontz and Sylvia Wilson. Internationally recognized instructors include Jane Hatton, England; Susana Martinez, Mexico; and Marcela Capo, Argentina.
Sugar Arts Institute classes cover a wide variety of skills including fondant, royal icing, buttercream, baking, pastillage, business, cake sculpting, airbrushing, blown & pulled sugar, to name a few.
SAI's goal is to provide an internationally standardized and recognized degree program in sugar arts to the highest of standards, not only through classes, but also hands on experiences through internships.

The Sugar Arts Institute, founded by Julie Bashore, Master Confectioner, International Instructor and TLC’s “Ultimate Cake Off” winner, is a non-profit educational organization offering unified levels of certification in cake decorating and the confectionery arts. The standardized degree program is comprised of 5 levels of learning, from a Certificate in the first year to a Master’s degree in the fifth, encompassing all aspects of sugar art skills.
