Sharon Jarett is a native Minnesotan from Rochester. Upon graduation from Hennepin Technical Collages Chef Program at Eden Prairie in 1985. She continued in food service working at Methodist Hospital. Shari has two children Tim and Heather Horton. She also joined the army reserves and cooked for the 544th Maintenance Unit in Wabasha, MN
Shari got into baking while, helping to decorate hundreds of cookies at the Mayo Clinic for holidays and special events. After her employment at the Mayo Clinic’s Methodist Hospital Site; Ms. Jarett began a full time cake decorating career for the HyVee Corporation in Rochester. That’s when she began attending UMBA conventions.
Chef Jarett’s also maintained membership in Women Chefs and Restaurateurs’ and was awarded a prestigious scholarship to travel to Berkley Ca. to study at Chef Ann Coopers’ site. Chef Ann is a nationally recognized Chef in the food service industry. Shari Jarett has been traveling the Highways of southern MN as a Regional Chef for Taher Inc. for the past eight years and traveled the globe as a part of Bruce Taher’s associate chef council before accepting this UMBA position.
