ABBOTSFORD, British Columbia – Stan Smith, president of One Degree Organic Foods, is pleased to announce that Rickard Werner joined the company as General Manager, effective September 5, 2017. Mr. Werner oversees the company’s operations to produce and distribute organic, non-GMO sprouted cereals, breads, tortillas, flours, legumes, and seeds.
With more than twenty-five years of experience in the natural products industry, Mr. Werner has worked with a diverse range of companies, including Boulder Brands’ Earth Balance, KeHE Distributors, Wild Oats Markets, and most recently, Blue Meridian LLC, where he consulted for emerging natural brands. His dynamic leadership, operational insight, and knowledge of emerging market trends will help to expand and further strengthen One Degree Organics’ position in North American markets.
“The combination of the philosophy of total supply chain transparency and a diverse product line really appealed to me,” Werner says. “One Degree’s line-up of sprouted products will naturally attract a larger segment of the U.S. market, while their philosophy of connecting consumers to the actual farmer who produced it closely aligns with an increasingly demanding consumer. I’m looking forward to helping One Degree Organics realize significant growth by connecting customers to sustainable farmers.”
“We’re so fortunate to have someone of Rick’s caliber join the team at One Degree Organics,” Smith says. “His extensive background in the natural products sector and impressive track record in achieving sales and growth targets will further position our company for continued success in the natural products industry.”
