ABA was pleased to host Rep. Martha Roby (R-AL) for an industry meet and greet on Dec. 14. Rep. Roby was elected to Congress in 2010 and serves on the Agriculture, Education & Workforce and Armed Services Committees in the House.
Attendees representing different sectors of the food industry discussed their legislative priorities with Rep. Roby. Those priorities included the next Farm Bill, food advertising restrictions to children, sugar reform and Congressional oversight of "activist" agencies.
Rep. Roby represents the second district of Alabama which holds a large ABA member presence including Flowers Foods, Earthgrains, Krispy Kreme and Red Star Yeast.
