A new haven of sweets, pastries and delectables has opened its doors in Irvine. Last week, the Qzina Institute of Chocolate & Pastry held its grand opening, ushering in a new era of professional development for Southern California’s dessert scene.
The new center, part of Qzina Specialty Foods, aims to turn Irvine into a destination for pastry chefs and confectioners looking to develop their skills and discover new methods. The $3.5 million institute will offer continuing education programs for pastry professionals, an outlet store and showroom, lectures and demonstrations and state-of-the-art research lab.
“The vision of the Qzina Institute is to provide a place for professionals to experience the best of the chocolate and pastry industry,” said Richard Foley, founder and CEO of Qzina. “Our goal is to help chefs expand their dessert repertoire and bring new creations to their guests. Customers who visit the institute will be inspired and surprised with what they can make and learn.”
