Hard white spring wheat growers (HWSW), as well as other wheat producers in the region, are helping spur growth at the North Dakota Mill and Elevator in Grand Forks, N.D.
According to Vance Taylor, State Mill and Elevator manager, their two new retail products, whole white wheat made from HWSW in five-pound bags and organic hard red spring wheat (HRSW) in five-pound bags, are doing well in stores.
"We've gotten a lot of feedback from people, and they say they like the whole white wheat. It bakes up really nicely," Taylor said.
The products came out last fall, and will be continually expanded into new retail outlets, he said
