David’s Cookies, a Cedar Grove, N.J.-based gourmet dessert company, has acquired Tampa wholesale bakery Jeff’s Gourmet Pies Inc.
Founded in 1982, Jeff’s supplies desserts for national restaurant chains and food service companies such as Sysco and US Foods. Its items include layer cakes, banquet cakes, cheesecakes, pies and ice cream pies.
The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in April in order to restructure debt and recapitalize, a written statement said.
