SAGINAW TOWNSHIP, MI — Perfection Bakeries Inc. DBA Aunt Millie’s Bakery is constructing a 11,534-square-foot bakery retail store, wholesale and distribution center and office space on Fashion Square Boulevard — a project expected to bring 21 new full-time jobs and nine new part-time jobs to Saginaw Township this year and more later.
The expected construction cost is $1,036,339, according to a letter from CFO Jay Miller to Saginaw Township Clerk Shirley Wazny requesting a real property tax abatement.
The Saginaw Township Board of Trustees during its Monday, April 22, meeting, unanimously approved the execution of a standardized tax abatement agreement and approved a 12-year real property industrial facilities tax exemption certificate in the amount of $1,036,339 for Perfection Bakeries Inc. DBA Aunt Millie’s Bakery, located at 3901 Fashion Square Boulevard.
Also during Monday’s meeting, the board unanimously adopted a resolution to establish an industrial development district for Perfection Bakeries Inc., DBA Aunt Millie’s Bakery. In order for an industrial facilities tax exemption to be approved, the board needed to first create an industrial development district.
