A distribution center in Fort Collins means new national brands on Fort Collins grocery shelves.
Georgia-based Flowers Foods has leased more than 4,500 square feet of warehouse space at 8101 SW Frontage Road and is using it as a hub for deliveries of its brands to local stores. The lease began in April and marked the addition of Nature's Own, Wonder bread and TastyKake snack cakes, pies, cookies and doughnuts to retail outlets in the Fort Collins market, Flowers Foods spokesman Paul Baltzer said in an email.
The new distribution center will not add new jobs, just the addition of the new brands to local stores. The company does not have any bakeries in Colorado but does include portions of the state — including Northern Colorado — in its direct-store delivery program, according to its website.
