RANSOM TWP. – Lying in his bed at Pocono Medical Center in 2008, Richard Williams reminisced about the glory days when he'd help his father churn out dozens of pies.
Within a week, his memories of carefully molding the fresh dough turned into a quest: reopen Williams Pies for the first time since 1991.
Nearly eight months after opening, business at his bakery at 2613 Milwaukee Road is booming, and Mr. Williams, 61, is selling his pies wholesale to a number of supermarkets in the area, including Quinn's Market in Blakely and Riccardo's Market in Dunmore.
"This is something I've wanted to do for a while," Mr. Williams said. "I've always loved working in the bakery."
