Largest Cake Convention In The Midwest Coming To St. Louis

See Food Network Celebrities, Live Cake Battles, Edible WOW FACTOR CAKES & More at the Show Me Sweets Edible Art Show & Convention next month at the Saint Charles Convention Center. The convention will be held September 8th and 9th and is great for bakers, families looking for fun and anyone with a sweet tooth!

The Show Me Sweets Cake and Candy Convention aims to highlight talent and confectionery traditions in the Show Me State and all throughout the Midwest. Professional and amateur bakers and confectionery artists, as well as local and worldwide vendors and food suppliers, will be in attendance. World-renowned cake artists, including Timbo Sullivan of the Cakes By Timbo (as seen on Food Network and Netflix), and Julia Usher, a LOCAL YouTube start with over 29 million views on her channel, in addition to many others will be offering classes over the weekend.

Live demonstrations and hands-on learning opportunities for all ages will be offered, in addition to delicious themed and wedding cakes, incredible edible art and a variety of other sweets and treats on display.

The highlight of the show will be the Edible Art Competition where people from all over the world will bring in their wow factor cakes, cookies and treats for nearly $15,000 in cash and prizes.

The Live Cake Battles are where the LIVE ACTION happens! Watch teams compete, just like on Cake Wars and other popular confectionery tv shows! As a matter of fact, some of our contestants may look familiar, as they have appeared numerous times on television.

The competition will showcase and crown the best baking and confectionery talent, with both local and worldwide contestants taking part. Chef Nicholas Lodge, a world–renowned pastry chef and one of the foremost cake artists in the world, will serve as Head Judge. Lodge is co-founder of the International Sugar Art Collection in Atlanta, Georgia and a recurring judge on the Food Network Challenge.

“We are thrilled to be hosting the Show Me Sweets competition with Nicholas Lodge as our Head Judge,” says Pege Yates, founder of Never Forgotten Designs.“He is a trusted opinion in our industry and will keep our competition fair and respected. There is so much incredible talent and passion for baking in Midwest, and we want to give everybody a place to share their confectionary art and spread the love for the fine art of baking.”

Show Me Sweets is sponsored by globally renowned  Renshaw America, PME, and Cake Supplies USA, aiming to raise awareness of the confectionery arts for all ages. It will benefit Icing Smiles,a nonprofit organization that provides custom celebration cakes and treats to families and children impacted by illness.

Tickets to the Show Me Sweets Cake and Candy Convention are available now. Admission is $20 for a one day pass and $30 for a weekend pass. The Competition is open to any age, with a variety of categories for every skill level.
