CINCINNATI – Klosterman Baking Company, a family-owned bakery headquartered in Cincinnati, announced it will renew its partnership with Pink Ribbon Girls in an effort to take on cancer. The bakery is launching its 2019 Pink with a Purpose campaign with a goal of raising $10,000 for the nonprofit that provides free direct services of healthy meals, housecleaning, rides to treatment and peer support for those battling breast and gynecological cancers.
Founded in 2001, Pink Ribbon Girls strives to lighten the burden for patients with breast and gynecological cancers. The organization serves communities in Central Ohio, Midwest Ohio, Southwest Ohio/Northern Kentucky, as well as St. Louis Missouri and the San Francisco Bay area.
“Unfortunately, cancer, especially breast cancer, has become an everyday reality in many lives. Most of us have friends or family who have been through the fight, and we know how important it is to show our support during that time,” said Kim Klosterman, CEO of Klosterman Baking Co. “That’s why Klosterman Baking Company is dedicated to supporting Pink Ribbon Girls, and in turn, our neighbors fighting cancer.”
“We know first-hand how much lightening the load – even a little bit – means to families going through cancer treatment,” said Heather Salazar, President and CEO of Pink Ribbon Girls. “The donation from Klosterman will allow us to provide services to countless families throughout Ohio and Northern Kentucky, and we greatly appreciate their continued support.”
Klosterman customers can take on cancer by purchasing Pink with a Purpose Rich ‘n Good Honey Bread and Bun varieties in grocery stores throughout Cincinnati, Columbus, and Dayton. A portion of the proceeds from sales of these specially-marked packages will benefit Pink Ribbon Girls. The campaign will run through December 2019.
Klosterman has been honored to be a part of the Pink Ribbon Girls family the past seven years, and is looking forward to continue their involvement in Pink Ribbon Girls’ community events such as Ignite the Fight in Cincinnati and Dayton, as well as Pink Games throughout the fall. Pink Ribbon Girls continues to grow the organization, and with the help of Klosterman Baking Company’s Pink with a Purpose campaign, the organization will have the opportunity to broadcast its message “No One Travels this Road Alone.” to an even greater part of the community.
In 2018, Pink Ribbon Girls provided more than 86,000 meals, 2,000 house cleanings, and 4,800 rides to treatment thanks to donations from the community, corporate partners, and private donors.
