King's Hawaiian Bakery is claiming its sweet rolls are getting ripped off by discount grocery chain Aldi.
In a lawsuit filed Oct. 21 in federal court in Gainesville, Ga., King's Hawaiian Bakery Southeast Inc. says Aldi, the self-proclaimed "nation's low-price grocery leader," is selling sweet rolls in packages intentionally designed to look like King's Hawaiian.
King's Hawaiian says Aldi's conduct is likely to cause consumers to be confused, deceived or mistaken into believing that there is an affiliation, connection or association between Aldi and King’s Hawaiian, or that Aldi’s products originate from or are sponsored by or approved by King’s Hawaiian, King's Hawaiian says in its lawsuit.
