Ken Downey's November 'Bakery Tip Of The Month'
November 13, 2014 | 1 min to read
Every Bakery has a Signature Item or Signature Line of products. Something that you are known for or something that you sell more of than most things. If it’s worthy of being one of your top sellers, it’s worth telling a story about.
Many bakeries will include the actual story of how the baker found the inspiration for a particular product or flavor profile. Try this by creating small tags or signs that tell the story of your product, and incorporate them into your merchandising displays. Also, be sure to train your staff on what your signature product’s story is. A little suggestive selling can go a long way. If a customer is indecisive at the bakery case, offer them your signature item – and make sure all of your employees are on board with the suggestion.
