Hy-Vee stores in the Des Moines metro are planning their eighth annual Hy-Vee Colossal Cookie Sale Tuesday through Sept. 27 to raise money for the Des Moines Area Religious Council’s Emergency Food Pantry network.
For each cookie sold, Hy-Vee will donate 1 cent to the pantry.
A kickoff event will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Ankeny Hy-Vee, 410 N. Ankeny Blvd.
Since the sale began in 2003, Hy-Vee stores have sold 5 million cookies and have donated more than $50,000 in food products to the council’s network of neighborhood pantries in greater Des Moines.
