Baltimore's H&S Bakery, a family-owned business best known for supplying McDonald's with its hamburger rolls, said Wednesday it has begun an expansion of its Fells Point location.
The $15 million project at 623 S. Caroline Street, to be completed by the end of the year, is designed to help streamline distribution operations, the firm said in a press release. The project will add about 25,000 square feet to its west building and includes new equipment and other upgrades. It received preliminary city approval last year.
The addition will span a city block, bound by Fleet, Bond, Caroline and Aliceanna streets and was designed by Morris & Ritchie Associates to match the character of the surrounding historic neighborhood, the firm said.
