» What: Brownberry Health-full 10 Grain bread.
» Cost: $3.99 per loaf, available at supermarkets and mass retail sites.
» Description: This new Brownberry bread has five grams of protein per slice and four grams of fiber (16 percent of daily requirements), but only one gram of fat and 160 mg of sodium. It contains 80 calories per slice and has no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives.
» What we liked about it: This bread is hearty and full-flavored, but still manages to be light and soft. The protein and fiber content is relatively high, and the number of calories per slice is relatively low. It was good for a peanut-butter-and-jelly sandwich, as well as a turkey sandwich. The slices are fairly thin, but that helps keep the calorie count down. I also liked that it doesn't contain any artificial ingredients.
