CHARLESTON, SC – Grey Ghost Bakery is proud to announce the addition of a Lemon Sugar cookie to the company’s line of delicious, all-natural sweet treats. The zesty lemon cookie, recently selected a Specialty Food Association 2014 sofi™ Award Finalist, is new for Spring 2014 and inspired by the lemon bundt cake of owner Katherine Frankstone’s mother. “All of our recipes pay homage to my childhood and no other recipe reminds me more of springtime at Pawley’s Island” says Frankstone. Inspired by her days spent baking and sharing Lowcountry lore with friends and family on the porch of her family’s Pawley’s Island beach house, Frankstone named the company for the Grey Ghost, a friendly spirit, that appears to alert residents of impending storms.
Hand-topped with pearlized sugar and baked with candied lemon peel, Grey Ghost’s Lemon Sugar cookies are made with minimally processed, non-GMO cane sugar, non-GMO flour, and pure lemon and vanilla extracts. With this new flavor, Grey Ghost Bakery remains committed to its all-natural, made-from-scratch legacy. Grey Ghost Bakery cookies are also available in Molasses Spice, Chocolate Espresso and Cinnamon Pecan varieties. The cookies are available in select gourmet retailers as well as online at www.greyghostbakery.com. Cookies are available for purchase by the dozen or in convenient 2-pack treats.
Touted by Food & Wine Magazine, Redbook Magazine and Cooking Light among others, Grey Ghost Bakery is a small family-owned baking company that uses the highest quality all natural ingredients to create made-from-scratch, hand-formed cookies in a range of addictive flavors. Like the ghost tales of the Carolina Lowcountry, Grey Ghost Bakery’s legendary recipes have been passed through the Frankstone family for generations.
