Great Harvest Bakery Coming To Pittsburgh

A new bakery led by boomerang Pittsburghers is coming to the Village of East Side, the community shopping center anchored by Trader Joe’s in East Liberty.

Dillon, Montana-based franchise Great Harvest Bread Co. has a local operator preparing to start raising dough in a 2,500-square-foot location formerly a Fashion Bug store in the shopping center.

Tom Katsafanas, a former advertising professional and a native of Morningside, and his wife, Erin Koebler, have returned to Pittsburgh from New England to open the region’s first local bakery for Great Harvest, which has grown to more than 200 locations throughout the country.
