LANSING, Michigan – Gellocake, the home-based custom-order dessert bakery, participated in the Making it in Michigan trade show at the Lansing Center on Wednesday, October 19.
With the help of Matt Birbeck, a Specialist from the Michigan State University Product Center, Gellocake and owner Lilian Chavira unveiled a prototype design for their new product line called Petite Pleasures. Known for her mouth-watering sweets, Chavira hopes to expand business to retail stores sometime in the near future.
The Making it in Michigan Conference provides new entrepreneurs with plenty of information and opportunities from providing distribution channels to covering strategies in recipe expansion. Hands-on classes and direct access to MSU Product Center team members give business leaders, like Chavira, a chance to improve their products.
