Three months after announcing that it might close without a cash infusion, Mary of Puddin Hill said Wednesday that it has signed a letter of intent to be purchased by a Dallas-based startup.
If the deal closes in 45 days as anticipated, the well-known Greenville maker of fruitcakes and pecan pies would become part of Legends Foods Corp.
Legends Foods is not related to Legends Hospitality LLC, the company that handles food service at Cowboys Stadium.
Legends Foods launched earlier this year after investor Jerry Grisaffi took over what was left of Precious Metals Exchange, a Dallas-based company that trades over the counter and has a 52-week high of 2 cents a share.
