GLENWOOD — Franz Family Bakery is lobbying Lane County and Springfield officials for a property tax waiver on its proposed $20 million expansion in Glenwood.
The expansion would add 45 jobs at the factory, which has slightly more than 200 employees.
The Portland-based company, also known as United States Bakery, wants five years of property tax breaks, totaling about $1.1 million in waivers, to help offset the cost of building the expansion to its 146,000-square-foot bread-making factory on Nugget Way, according to a memo attached to Springfield city councilors’ Monday meeting agenda.
