A new food manufacturer/distributor will be moving in to the Hattiesburg-Laurel Regional Airport’s business park, bringing 22 new jobs to the Pine Belt.
“Flowers Foods approached a development company, who then approached us about building their distribution center here in our business park,” said Tom Heanue, executive director of the airport and its properties. “This is going to be great for the area because it’s going to bring jobs and economic development here not only to the airport but the neighboring counties.”
Flowers Foods is one of the largest producers of packaged bakery foods in the United States. The company operates more than 40 bakeries that produce a wide range of bakery food for retail and food service customers in the U.S. . It is a $3.75 billion corporation headquartered in Thomasville, Georgia.
