Dr. Siegal’s COOKIE DIET brand products, today announced that it has begun
shipping renowned physician, author, and weight-loss expert Dr. Sanford Siegal’s
internationally popular cookies to more than 7,000 Walgreens stores throughout
the United States. The decision to make the company’s products available at all
Walgreens stores follows successful test marketing on Walgreens.com and at over
200 Walgreens stores from coast-to-coast. Walgreens.com also carries Dr.
Siegal’s COOKIE DIET brand shake mixes and Dr. Siegal’s latest book, Dr.
Siegal’s Cookie Diet Book: How a Doctor and His Cookie Helped 500,000 People
Lose Weight Fast (2009, Hyde Park Publishing Ltd., 320 pages, ISBN

Sanford Siegal, D.O., M.D., conceived the idea of a diet based on a
hunger-satisfying cookie in the early 1970s while writing a book about natural
substances in foods that suppress hunger. He decided to engineer a food
specifically to help his patients stick to the low-calorie diet that he
advocates. Dr. Siegal produced a formula for a proprietary mixture of amino
