Chef Justin Thompson, head of the JTR Group, said he received a visit last fall from Tom Farrell, chef-owner of Farrell Family Bread.
“He walks into my office and asks if I ever thought about getting into the baking business,” said Thompson, whose restaurants include PRHYME Downtown Steakhouse, Juniper, Tavolo and 624 Catering.
“I said I hadn’t, but I was willing to talk about it. That was last September, and I ended up taking over Farrell Family Bread in October.”
