A local vegan bakery was recently named among the top bakeries in the world for their array of animal-free treats.
Vegan Treats in Bethlehem was featured in American Express' Departures magazine among bakeries in Paris, Vienna, Tokyo and New York City.
“It's nice to be recognized among the traditional bakeries. It shows that we're not just the best vegan bakery. It's a lot of validation for us,” said Joy Grant, bakery manager.
While outstanding, the accolades are really nothing new for the Bethlehem bakery, which Grant said is “bursting at the seams.” A staff of eight bakers and decorators and 12 support staff are continually churning out product.
