Aunt Millie’s donated 3,600 loaves of Butter Top Wheat Bread to Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana at 10:00 a.m. on December 09, 2010. The bread was delivered fresh to Gleaners Food Bank in Indianapolis, for distribution to those in need this holiday season.
“The recession has driven significant numbers of people to food pantries,” says Cindy Hubert, President and CEO of Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana. “This generous donation from Aunt Millie’s will help us continue to meet our growing need.”
Since its humble beginning in an Indianapolis garage in 1980, Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana has distributed more than 270 million pounds of food. Last year alone, Gleaners distributed more than 25 million pounds of food through approximately 350 hunger-relief organizations. Gleaners Food Bank serves thousands of Hoosier families, seniors and children in 21 central Indiana counties.
