Johnsonville Adds New Sausage Flavor For Chicago Market
July 10, 2013 | 1 min to read
As part of the ongoing trend of creating all sorts of sausage flavors, Sheboygan Falls-based Johnsonville has introduced a giardiniera smoked sausage.
The product has been rolled out this summer in the Chicago area and the flavor is meant to mimmick Chicago-style hot dogs.
"Ask any Chicagoan what makes their Chicago-style hot dog so famous, and they’ll likely give credit to the spicy pickled vegetable condiment, giardiniera," Johnsonville says in a statement announcing the product.
The company says it will make its Chicago recipe giardiniera smoked-cooked sausage available to select greater-Chicago grocery stores through Labor Day.
