Three New Wal-Mart Stores Open In Chicago
January 17, 2013 | 1 min to read
More than a year and a half after plans for a small Wal-Mart stirred controversy among Lakeview residents, the store is about to open at 2858 N. Broadway.
Two other Wal-Mart Neighborhood Markets, one in the Little Village neighborhood and the other in Back of the Yards, also open tomorrow.
With the new stores, the Bentonville, Ark.-based retail behemoth now has eight stores within Chicago's city limits.
So far, Wal-Mart has announced plans for three more, including a supercenter in the Pullman neighborhood later this year, as well as two Neighborhood Markets in the Auburn/Gresham and Grand Boulevard neighborhoods in 2014.
