Bodegraven – Last week Kaamps Estate Cheese ‘Boer’n Trots’ has been crowned with various awards during the International Cheese Awards 2018. A confirmation of the unique and excellent quality of this farmstead cheese. This farmstead cheese lives up to her name: Farmers’ Pride. In Holland ‘boer’ means Farmer and ‘trots’ stands for Pride.
The International Cheese Awards in Nantwich (UK) is one of the largest cheese shows in the world, with more than 5,000 cheeses from 27 countries participating. The cheeses are inspected by an international jury over different categories. These experts evaluate the cheeses on taste, consistence, scent and appearance. Unique taste profiles of Kaamps Estate cheeses
· Boer’n Trots Mushroom & Chestnut is Estate Kaamps’ latest acquisition. The addition of coarse pieces of mushroom, cep, Slippery Jack, chestnuts and chives gives this cheese a unique taste.
· Boer’n Trots XO is a crumbly cheese ripened for at least 80 weeks and thus forms beautiful protein crystals. The taste is particularly rich and creamy.
· Boer’n Trots Clover is a unique and creamy cheese with a rind washed in caramel. Made with milk of free range, clover eating cows from Holland.
