FOX LAKE — Work is grinding forward after a lengthy delay for LeRoy Meats of Horicon, an award-winning processor of meat products expanding into Fox Lake.
Dozens of people involved in the construction of a new production facility met for a ceremonial groundbreaking Thursday off Highway 33 on the city’s northwest side.
“It has been a three-year process to get this far, but the whole time Mayor Tom Bednarek has kept on my case,” LeRoy Meats partner Scott Hurst said. “He’d ask, ‘When are you going to get over here?’ The day has finally come and we’re looking forward to getting it up and running.”
