New Flower Exchange Adds Chemical-Free Option For Minnesota Floral Buyers

Christine Hoffman opened the first exclusively local and chemical-free flower studio, Foxglove Market & Studio, in the Twin Cities several years ago. Now she has influenced the local flower market once again by opening what she calls a “new experiment”— The Twin Cities Flower Exchange.

Located in Falcon Heights, The Exchange is a sort of hub for local, chemical-free flower farmers to bring flowers in for purchase by wholesale buyers. The Exchange offers a broad range of in-season flowers and flora, from perennials and woody cuts to annuals to more wild materials such as vines, foliage, and wildflowers.

Hoffman says she opened The Exchange because as she worked with local farmers in her flower studio, she realized that the market for local, sustainably-grown cut flowers was too small and wanted to help bridge the gap between local flower producer and consumer.
