Healdville, VT – All-natural, hand-crafted and historic Crowley Cheese is now available in handy 4 oz. waxed bars, called CROWLEY MINIS. Crowley Minis round out Crowley’s line of artisanal raw milk cheese, available in different aged and flavor varieties, including clothbound wheels, blocks and 8 oz. waxed bars.
This new, smaller Crowley offers a convenient alternative to Crowley's traditional wheels and blocks for active individuals and families on-the-go who want a delicious, portable snack or distinctive small gift. Crowley plans an initial release in 10 of its most popular varieties, including various ages and popular flavors like Muffaletta and Fresh Chive. Crowley Minis will be available from select retailers throughout New England (visit www.crowleycheese.com for a complete list).
Crowley Cheese is a venerable Vermont artisanal brand, started in the Crowley family’s farm kitchen in 1824, using an original American recipe. Crowley is still made today in much the same way as it was then. A semi-firm cheese that resembles a Cheddar, Crowley is made using a rinsed curd process that results in a sweeter, creamier cheese with a distinctive open texture. Crowley Cheese has been lauded frequently in magazine articles and books about American artisanal cheeses and was recently featured in Yankee Magazine's “Best of New England” section (May/June 2011).
Crowley Cheese can be sampled at the Crowley Cheese Factory, the country’s oldest continuously operating cheese factory, a National Historic Place, in picturesque Healdville, Vermont, and at farmer’s markets and shows and festivals throughout the state. Crowley also participates in the Vermont Cheesemakers’ Festival (July 24), the Fancy Food Show in Washington, DC, in July, and the annual American Cheese Society meeting in Montreal in August.
