A 7.3-acre vacant site at Kennedy Airport will be transformed into a $24 million food manufacturing and distribution center, the Daily News has learned.
Bartlett Dairy & Food Service has been selected to develop the city-owned property, and the city’s Industrial Development Agency board is expected to approve the deal Tuesday.
Officials said Bartlett was chosen in part because 75% of its workforce is from Brooklyn and Queens. The company has also pledged to use minority- and women-owned businesses to help design and construct the 56,000-square-foot facility.
