Chelsea Food Services of Denver, Colorado is recalling Jarlsberg Cheese Spread with Cookies and Cream Dessert labeling, because it contains undeclared EGGS. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to EGGS run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.
Product was distributed in Colorado to King Soopers and City Market Stores.
Specific information on how the product can be identified: packed in plastic container, net wt. 6.6 oz., states “Made for King Soopers”, with expiration date of 05/13/16. Label is on bottom of packaging.
No illnesses have been reported to date.
The recall was initiated after it was discovered Jarlsberg Cheese Spread containing EGGS were labeled with Cookies and Cream Dessert. It was distributed with packaging that did not reveal the presence of EGGS. Subsequent investigation indicates the problem was caused by a temporary breakdown in the labeling processes.
