GEORGETOWN, S.C. — The Charleston Pie Man, Toby Simmons, was ordered by a judge to pay almost $17,000 in unpaid wages to former employees.
Simmons, who appeared in magistrate’s court early Tuesday, faced a room full of irate employees who said they were not paid for their services.
Simmons, who was accompanied to court by a representative of a local financial company, BC Funding and Management, said he would pay at least $16,908 in wages to at least 22 people who filed complaints against him.
Some of the payments will be paid in increments, but they must be paid within 30 days or the former employees can head back to court, Magistrate Isaac Pyatt said.
