WATSONVILLE, California (October 12, 2010) – Classic Salads, a premier supplier of gourmet baby leaf salads and specialty vegetables, is announcing their new organic salad line for retail customers at PMA Fresh Summit in Orlando, Florida. Established in 2000 by longtime Salinas Valley farmer Lance Batistich, Classic Salads has become one of the fastest growing salad processors in the industry, with 100% of its products grown in the US. A key element of entering into the retail supermarket segment has been the leadership of new Vice President of Sales & Marketing, John Burge, a 20-year industry veteran holding executive positions at Fresh Express, Earthbound Farm and Taylor Farms before joining Classic Salads.

The Classic Salads organic retail line includes 5 oz clamshells of Spring Mix, Sweet Baby Lettuces, Baby Spinach, Baby Romaine, Baby Arugula, Fresh Herb Mix, and a 7 oz clamshell of Romaine Heart Whole Leaves, in addition to 1 lb clamshells of Baby Spinach and Spring Mix. Retail bags of all these above varieties are also available; as well as 3 chopped romaine blends. All gourmet varieties can be packed under the Classic Salads Organic brand or private label packaging.
