Sodexo Names Ellie Krieger First Mindful By Sodexo Ambassador

GAITHERSBURG, Md. — Sodexo announced a new partnership with Food Network host and cookbook author, Ellie Krieger today. As one of its famous culinary ambassadors, Krieger will contribute her personal expertise to Mindful by Sodexo, a program designed to make healthy lifestyle choices second nature.

Krieger will roll out four new signature recipes available in Sodexo cafes beginning in September 2015. Krieger's recipes will be showcased at Sodexo locations and available for download on the Mindful website for those who want to prepare the recipes at home. Over the next year, Krieger will also write a series of articles offering tips and advice on how to maintain a healthy lifestyle throughout the day, without sacrificing flavor.

"Ellie Krieger is a perfect fit for the Mindful by Sodexo program because she shares our balanced, holistic approach to healthy living and eating," said John Wright, senior vice president of Sodexo's Offer Development Center. "We look forward to providing our clients and guests across the 9,000 sites we serve in North America with special access to her attainable advice and healthy recipes, as well as her legendary charisma and inspirational messages."

The Mindful approach focuses on transparency of ingredients, delicious food, satisfying portions and clarity in message so that making Mindful choices becomes second nature. While designed for use in Sodexo cafes, Mindful is an approach that can be easily adopted at home.

"Partnering with Mindful by Sodexo is a wonderful opportunity to talk to a broad and diverse audience about the importance of maintaining a balanced lifestyle," said Krieger. "My hope is that this program will help the 15 million people Sodexo reaches everyday realize that there are simple things they can do to be healthier without making dramatic and unsustainable sacrifices."

Krieger is a registered dietitian nutritionist, well known as the host of Food Network's hit show "Healthy Appetite." She has received both the prestigious James Beard Foundation and International Association of Culinary Professionals (IACP) cookbook awards and she is a New York Times Bestselling author. Her most recently published book is Weeknight Wonders: Delicious, Healthy Dinners in 30 Minutes or Less. Additionally, she is a columnist for The Washington Post, speaks regularly at high profile events across the U.S. and has appeared as a guest expert on dozens of national television programs.
