Colvin Scholarship Fund Awards $100,000 to 24 Future Agriculture Leaders

WOOSTER, Ohio – Interest in quality beef production continues to grow. This year, the Colvin Scholarship Fund awarded $100,000 to 24 students across the country, helping them continue their education and prepare for careers that will contribute to the strength and advancement of the beef industry.

Each recipient is pursuing a career in production agriculture, industry research or another area of agriculture. Their commitment carries forward the legacy of Certified Angus Beef’s co-founder and long-time executive director, Louis “Mick” Colvin, whose vision helped establish the scholarship program.

Since the first scholarship was awarded in 2002, the Colvin Scholarship Fund has provided $833,500 to 227 students pursuing careers in agriculture and the beef industry. Interest in the program continues to grow, with 229 students applying for scholarships this year, up from approximately 159 applicants last year.

These future leaders demonstrate the dedication, skill and vision that make them ambassadors for the brand. Top recipients in each category were awarded $7,500 with additional scholarships recognizing educational achievement and community involvement across production agriculture, undergraduate and graduate students.
