BANDON — Face Rock Creamery, known for bold cheddar flavors created from simple ingredients, hits its two-year anniversary in May. To celebrate, Face Rock will host a weekend barbecue Saturday, May 9, and Sunday, May 10, with Arch Rock Brewing and live music to reinforce the creamery’s role as a community rallying point.
A VIP industry cocktail reception will kick off the weekend on Friday, May 8. The creamery will also note the occasion by releasing its new extra-aged cheddar (aged two years), previously unavailable.
Owner Greg Drobot, his partners Daniel Graham and award-winning cheesemaker Brad Sinko have rapidly met their goal to infuse Oregon’s cheddar industry with flavor-forward cheeses. In the past year, sales have increased 40 percent, production is up 30 percent and 900 retail locations in nine states carry Face Rock Creamery cheese, according to a press release.
