Phoenix-based wholesale bakery maintains focus on simplicity, integrity, consistency and excellence

PHOENIX — Strictly From Scratch is a Phoenix-based commercial bakery that produces sweet and savory breads and pastries for large-scale wholesale distribution across the country. In 2025, the company celebrated its 30th anniversary. As 2026 rapidly approaches, the brand aims to continue its legacy by sticking to its proven formula featuring ingredients like simplicity, integrity, consistency and a passion for excellence.

“As we approach 2026, our focus is on smart, sustainable growth. We’re expanding into new sweet goods categories and introducing exciting new products, including traditional and flavored Kringle varieties, which are already paving the way for expanded commercial opportunities,” said Thomas DePaola, senior vice president of Strictly From Scratch. “Additionally, we’re actively exploring strategic acquisitions that could create meaningful collaborations and broaden our capabilities and reach.  

DePaola credits the company’s longtime success to a relentless commitment to quality and consistency, but more importantly, to decades of refining and mastering their craft.          

“As my father — Founder, CEO and President Rudy DePaola — has always said, ‘Know what you do and do it well,’” he said. “We’ve built a highly versatile research and development team and achieved a balance between smart automation and hands-on craftsmanship. This philosophy has driven Strictly From Scratch’s success over the past thirty years and beyond. Today, it’s the largest niche commercial bakery in Phoenix and ranks among the top 20 nationally. It is also one of the top three suppliers for the airline industry. The company employs just under 200 people and serves a broad range of clients in foodservice and commercial channels, supporting both regional and national partners.       

Looking ahead, DePaola said he is positioning the brand to significantly expand its capacity and capabilities, which will benefit both the local market and the company’s growing commercial customer base.  

“2026 is shaping up to be a pivotal year for our brand. Customers can expect continuous innovation, streamlined processes and fresh twists on our existing product lines,” he said. “As we pursue strategic acquisitions, we’re excited about the possibility of introducing new and diverse products while offering our current customers more variety, greater consistency and added value with every order.”
