Meadow Lane, TikTok’s Favorite Unopened Gourmet Grocery Store, Finally Gets an Opening Date

For the past 17 months, founder Sammy Nussdorf has been bringing his TikTok followers along as he builds a gourmet grocery store in Tribeca. Now, in a VF exclusive, he’s revealing exactly when Meadow Lane will open.

On Friday, November 14, Meadow Lane, Sammy Nussdorf’s hotly anticipated gourmet grocery store, will open its doors in Tribeca, Vanity Fair can exclusively reveal. For the chronically online, Meadow Lane has come to represent a cultural mirage, as TikTok personalities have longed for, tracked, and conspiracy-theorized its opening since Nussdorf’s first post about the project in June 2024—until now.

“Going to plan my bach trip to Meadow Lane,” 30-year-old Kirsten Goodman, who lives in Delaware, commented when Nussdorf teased on TikTok (where his username is Brokeback Contessa) that the store will open this month. “This is like my Met Gala,” wrote 20-year-old Zoë Newbold from Connecticut.
