After a $8 million investment and partnerships with Canadawide Fruits and Les Entreprises Pitre, Bleu & Bon opened a 50,000‑sq‑ft processing factory in the Hautes‑Laurentides to centralize year‑round Quebec berry production. The facility meets strict food standards and features a 2‑million‑pound freezer, automated destemmer, strawberry slicer, high‑capacity spread lines, and a turnkey co‑packing service to support industry partners.
Sainte-Véronique, Quebec — After more than a year of development and collaboration with many industry experts, Bleu & Bon is proud to announce the inauguration of its new 50,000-square-foot processing factory located in the Hautes-Laurentides. This major project represents an investment of $8 million and was made possible by the essential support of its partners, Fruits Canadawide and Les Entreprises Pitre, whose partnership was announced earlier in December 2024. This initiative allows Bleu & Bon to centralize the manufacturing of all its products under one roof and reinforce its mission: to offer Quebec berries year-round.
This new factory, which complies with the most rigorous food standards and processes, marks a crucial step in the company’s growth and demonstrates its commitment to innovation and local production.
A Cutting-Edge Factory
Major investments have been made in technological innovations to optimize the company’s productivity and profitability. The facilities include a bagging line for frozen fruit, a freezing room with a capacity of 2 million pounds of fruit, and two production lines for spreads, capable of producing nearly 1,000 cases per day. In addition, the company is the first in Canada to acquire an automatic destemmer that can process up to 1,000 pounds of strawberries per hour, drastically reducing destemming costs.
Another investment was made to import a machine from Europe that automatically slices strawberries, enabling the company to now offer consumers frozen sliced strawberries, a product frequently requested by customers.
A Co-Packing Service to Support the Industry
Bleu & Bon is also proud to launch its turnkey co-packing service for companies in the industry looking for a reliable partner for the production and packaging of their products. The co-packing offer covers a wide range of needs, including dry, refrigerated, and frozen products, as well as bulk, liquid, and semi-liquid products.
