Iselin, NJ – Allegiance Retail Services, a leading retailer-owned grocery coop, announced that Morton Williams supermarkets will be leaving the cooperative based on the sale of their business to Wakefern.

Morton Williams became a trusted and highly regarded member of Allegiance Retail Services in September of 2022. From the onset, Avi Kaner, owner, Morton Williams, took an active role in the cooperative, being nominated to the Board of Directors in 2023. The meaningful partnership between Morton Williams and Allegiance Retail Services was regarded as beneficial to the entire retail supermarket group.

“We want to thank the entire Morton Williams team for having partnered with Allegiance Retail Services these past three years, and Avi Kaner’s participation on the Board of Directors,” said Joseph Fantozzi, COO, President, ARS. “His insights and suggestions were appreciated by all of our members.”

Allegiance Retail Services wishes Avi Kavner, Morton (Morty) Sloan and Steven Sloan and the entire Morton Williams family and store associates well in the transition.
