3 Suburban Mariano’s Stores to Shutter as Part of Kroger’s Nationwide Closures

The confirmed closures come as Kroger, Mariano’s parent company, says it plans to close some 60 stores over the next 18 months
At least three suburban Chicago Mariano’s grocery stores will close in the coming months, a spokesperson for Mariano’s parent company Kroger confirmed to NBC Chicago.
The closures come after grocery giant Kroger announced plans to close as many as 60 stores nationwide over the next year and a half.
In a statement, a Kroger spokesperson called the decision to close the stores “difficult,” adding that impacted employees will have the chance to transfer to a different location.
