Quito – The renowned International Flower Trade Exhibition AGRIFLOR is going into its 15th edition with just one month to go. The trade expo is sold out with over 250 companies exhibiting in this 3 day event.
While the biggest group of exhibitors consists of flower growers from Ecuador, various (international) floriculture suppliers are exhibiting as well. One of the important groups of suppliers are the flower breeders, who make sure that the industry of Ecuador is constantly supplied with the newest varieties of flowers available for production.
The event will start off this year on Wednesday October 1st at 12:00hrs in the Exhibition Hall CEMEXPO, with a short official opening ceremony of 30 minutes. CEMEXPO has been the home base venue of AGRIFLOR, located just outside Quito on the way to the Middle of the world, for more than 15 years. The ideal place where the expo has been held since 2000 and where it grew to what it has become today. Every even year thousands of buyers from all over the world have written the October dates in their agenda to visit the expo in Ecuador to source their flower needs for the next year. A great extra chance is the opportunity to not only visit the expo but as well to visit the farms of the growers, a real added value to their visit.
This year farm tours will again be part of the official program with on Tuesday the 30th of September, Thursday the 2nd of October and Friday the 3rd of October planned visits to the farms of growers that produce a variety of flowers such as roses, summer flowers, bulb flowers and many others. In the evening of Thursday October 2nd the traditional official welcome reception will be held at the San Francisco Convent in the beautiful characteristic historical downtown city center of Quito. The cocktail celebrations will start at 20:00hrs until midnight when it will end, in order to enable all the guests as well as exhibitors to sleep on time and be fit for the next exhibition day.
Flower buyers pre registration interest is high until now and with an increase of almost 75% compared to the last held edition in 2012, this year’s edition of AGRIFLOR is looking very promising. “If the list of online visitor’s registrations continues to grow in the current speed, we are heading for an all time high”, says Dick van Raamsdonk, General Manager of HPP Exhibitions Ecuador, organizer of the expo.
