The American Bakers Association announces its proposed new slate of officers for the ABA Board of Directors. The proposed officers will be considered at the All Membership Meeting taking place at the 2014 ABA Convention in Scottsdale, Ariz., March 16, 2014.
The proposed officers will be considered for the March 2014 – March 2016 ABA Board of Directors:
- Rich Scalise, CEO, Hearthside Food Solutions, will be replacing Howard R. "Robin" Alton, III, President & CEO, Pan-O-Gold Baking Company, as the ABA Chairman.
- Fred Penny, President, Bimbo Bakeries USA, will continue his position as the First Vice Chairman.
- Past ABA Chairman Allen Shiver, President & CEO, Flowers Foods, will serve as the Second Vice Chairman.
- Erin Sharp, Vice President, Manufacturing, The Kroger Co., will serve as Treasurer, replacing longtime ABA Treasurer Albert Lepage, Flowers Foods, who will be retiring in the coming months.
- Robin Alton will assume the role of Immediate Past Chairman, replacing Allen Shiver.

Having served on the Board of Directors for nearly two decades, Albert's dedication and service to ABA and the baking industry is second to none; he will be deeply missed.
