West Sacramento-based fresh produce delivery service Farm Fresh To You has acquired a controlling interest in Seattle-based Full Circle to expand into Washington, Oregon and Alaska.

Prior to the acquisition, Farm Fresh To You delivered more than 10,000 boxes a week of produce and agricultural goods to subscribers in California. Combined, the two companies will deliver to more than 100,000 subscribers on the West Coast, and will have revenue in excess of $80 million annually, said Barbara Archer, spokeswoman for Farm Fresh To You.

“In the competitive environment of food delivery services, which are fueled by venture capital or other cash sources and have been unable to attain profitability, our company has maintained profitable growth for over 10 years,” said Freeman Barsotti, co-owner and managing partner of Farm Fresh To You, in a news release. “First and foremost, we are organic farmers, so we understand the complexities in local food production and the downfalls of the current food system. Both companies have been collaborative leaders in rebuilding a transparent food system that is innovative and authentic. With this merger, we became the West Coast’s dominant, perishable delivery service that is owned and operated by actual farmers.”
